Admin Assistant - Summerseat Methodist Primary School

Overview

Job Title: Part-time Office Admin Assistant (temporary – for 6 months linked to secondment – may become permanent)
Salary Grade: Grade 5 – SCP 4-5, (Pro rata £12,316)
Working Pattern: Term time only
Working Hours: Monday / Tuesday / Wednesday 8:45am – 11:45am
Thursday / Friday 8:45am – 3:30pm with 30 min unpaid lunch break
(21.5 hours per week)
Required From: 3rd September 2025

Personal attributes

The Governors are seeking to appoint a dedicated and professional Administrative Assistant who:
•Has a recognised qualification or relevant experience in administration or office-based work
•Has excellent organisational, communication and interpersonal skills
•Will be confident in managing calls, emails, and front-of-house responsibilities in a calm and professional manner
•Will provide a warm, friendly welcome to all pupils, families, visitors and staff, reflecting the school’s nurturing and inclusive ethos
•Is confident using a range of IT systems and can maintain accurate records with attention to detail
•Will demonstrate discretion, confidentiality and professionalism at all times
•Will be an active member of our school team and contribute positively to our Christian ethos and values
•Will work calmly under pressure and be flexible in responding to the changing needs of a busy school office
•Will support with wider school administrative tasks, including attendance, admissions and communication with families
