Admission Arrangements

Epworth Education Trust is a Multi-Academy Trust established with the aim of providing outstanding learning and opportunities for the children within its care.

Children are our nation’s most precious resource. Their school life and learning experience will shape them for the whole of their lives.

The Trust is the admission authority for all schools across the Trust and is responsible for setting the admission arrangements for each of its schools.

Each school has an admission policy for each academic year and these policies are written to comply with the School Admissions Code 2021 and the School Admissions Appeals Code 2022. Currently, all admissions preferences for our schools are administered by the local authority as part of their statutory duties.

We are committed to our academies being open to all members of the communities within which our schools are situated. Our policy is that each academy adopts and follows the admissions policy of their Local Authority. This includes the school criteria and appeals process, as well as in-year admission application criteria.

Each school’s Local Advisory Board is responsible for adopting the policy within their Local Authority and adhering to it.

If a school wants to change the admissions criteria from that of their Local Authority, they must seek the approval of Epworth Education Trust.

All schools will update their admission criteria, appeals and application process on their website.

Where the admission arrangements have not changed from the previous year there is no requirement to consult, subject to the requirement that admission authorities must consult on their admission arrangements at least once every 7 years, even if there have been no changes during that period.

Consultation must last for a minimum of 6 weeks and must take place between 1 October and 31 January in the determination year.
