Bakewell Methodist Academy
We are a small, friendly school situated in the historic Peak District town of Bakewell. Our curriculum has been designed to ensure every child can ‘live life in all its fullness’. We aim to deliver a curriculum that is underpinned by our drivers of diversity, resilience, creativity and aspiration and is designed to meet the needs of our children.
The children tell us they are happy and safe at school and the parents tell us they are pleased with the progress their children make. The behaviour of the children is very good and parents report that children are listened to and cared for at school.

Pupils at this school feel happy and safe. Many told inspectors that they ‘love their school’ and that their teachers ‘know them well and care about them’. They trust their teachers to take any worries they have seriously and say that bullying, if it did occur, would be dealt with quickly. They are proud of their school and describe it as a ‘safe place for all, whatever their age, race or gender’.
