Epworth Education Trust

Education Approach

The main purpose of the Epworth Education Trust is to be a place where schools can work collaboratively to be the best they can be. The aim is for all schools in the Trust to be successful schools providing the best education for all children in its care.

All schools within the Trust are deeply committed to enhancing life opportunities for each child. Driven by the principle that "Every Child is Everybody’s Responsibility," the Trust collaborates to foster the success, well-being, and growth of every pupil, enabling each child to flourish.

The Epworth Education Trust is rooted in our communities, our profession and our faith. We work together to ensure that every child and young person can achieve excellence.

Our Education Approach

  • The Trust’s education approach is anchored to six principles which inform our Education Strategy. These are:
We will build a family of schools with shared values, but who can support their individual communities in their own unique way
  • Best practice will be delivered through school-based models of excellence
  • Each school will deliver a dynamic and creative curriculum that holds no limits on the achievements and learning of all pupils
  • A commitment to the highest standard of pastoral care and support
  • Our education and ethos will be used to support and develop our local communities
  • Our high-quality continuous professional development will enable staff to shine and advance in their careers

At Epworth Education Trust, we uphold a model of great teaching across all our schools. Each school provides a broad, balanced, and tailored curriculum designed to meet the unique needs of the children it serves, with a strong foundation of high aspirations and ambition for all children. This approach brings the Trust’s vision to life: "To be a family of schools working together so all within our communities can flourish and succeed."

"DO ALL YOU CAN"

At Epworth Education Trust, we are committed to delivering high-quality inclusive education that ensures every child, regardless of background, ability, or need, has the opportunity to flourish.

All schools create a positive, inclusive and supportive learning environment for all children by building a holistic understanding of each child and their unique needs, ensuring that all children benefit from high-quality teaching by integrating inclusive approaches into everyday classroom practices.

To ensure best practices in pedagogy and teaching, the Trust implements its ‘Teaching and Learning Model,’ informed by educational evidence-based research. This model supports and promotes high-quality teaching throughout all our schools.

The Trust has a clear Education Strategy that further outlines our approach to monitoring, evaluating, supporting, and challenging our schools to achieve the best possible outcomes for all children and young people.

Wider curriculum offer

Every school strives to create a welcoming atmosphere where children feel valued, supported, and encouraged to engage fully in all areas of school life. At the Epworth Trust, we are committed to nurturing each child's holistic growth through our comprehensive ‘Infinite 8’ program. This initiative offers eight enriching opportunities, allowing children to participate in a range of experiences beyond the taught curriculum throughout their school journey.

By offering these opportunities, we aim to encourage children to take an active role in their learning, allowing them to explore their interests and embark on personal journeys of self-discovery and reflection. This approach supports children in becoming well-rounded individuals with aspirations to be the best version of themselves, aligning with the Epworth Trust’s vision and values of Aspiration, Collaboration, Generosity, Inclusivity, Integrity, and Wisdom.

Professional development enabling all to flourish

The Trust provides all its schools with a wide array of evidence-informed, research-based professional development opportunities to enrich the educational experience for every learner. This includes specialised subject training as well as a strong focus on effective pedagogy and teaching practices.

Our schools’ benefit from subject networks and the support of Epworth Specialist Leaders (ESLs). These ESLs are expert practitioners in their specialised areas who raise standards by sharing their knowledge and collaborating with others to build skills and expertise within primary education.

Our staff are the people that ‘unlock’ our children’s potential and make a difference to the lives of children and young people every single day. We will highly invest in them through bespoke training and coaching. At Epworth Education Trust, we strive for everyone within our school community to flourish, supported by a comprehensive professional development program that includes a variety of National Professional Qualifications.
