Competitive Salaries

We offer competitive salaries for both teaching and non-teaching staff based on the type and level of role you do. Pay ranges are reviewed annually with our recognised unions. Your starting salary will be determined by the pay range for your role, your experience as well as external market conditions. Our sick pay, maternity and paternity pay meet or exceed national standards.

National Terms and Conditions

Epworth Education Trust is committed to offering national terms and conditions in line with the School Teacher’s Pay and Conditions document (“STPCD”), the Burgundy Book (for Teachers) or the NJC Green Book (for Support Staff). This commitment is protected via a Recognition and Collective Agreement between Epworth and the national Trade Unions and Professional Associations.

Pension Scheme

All contracted members of staff will be automatically enrolled into a career-average pension scheme with either the Teachers Pension Scheme or the Local Government Pension Scheme (whichever is appropriate). You don’t pay tax or National Insurance on your contributions and Epworth adds a generous employer contribution, which varies depending on your salary. All staff are entitled to opt-out of the pension scheme should they wish to do so.

Holiday

We recognise the importance of a good work-life balance and provide generous holiday entitlements to all year round staff. This entitlement is in addition to any Bank or Public holidays. Teaching staff receive the standard school holiday allowance.

Wellbeing Package

Our employees health and wellbeing is important to us. Our wellbeing package with Schools Advisory Service offers numerous benefits including an employee assistance program that offers free and confidential advice available 24hrs, 7 days a week, 365 days a year, counselling, access to a 24 hour GP service, weight management advice, menopause and nurse support, among others. All employees can benefit from an additional day off each academic year to help look after their wellbeing.

Recognition

We’re proud to have a range of schemes, which recognise the achievements of our staff and show our appreciation of their contributions. Our Staff Awards provide a way for managers to reward and recognise colleagues who go that extra mile. We also have Long Service Awards so we can formally recognise and celebrate the loyalty of those who have worked for us for a significant period of time.

Eye Care

All employees who regularly use display screen equipment in their roles are entitled to free regular eye tests and/or a contribution towards glasses, in accordance with HSE guidelines.

Cycle to Work Scheme

Our Cycle to Work scheme enables employees to purchase brand-new bicycles and cycling equipment via salary sacrifice, making tax and National Insurance savings.

Tech Scheme

Our Tech scheme enables employees to purchase electrical items such as laptops, mobiles, iPad via salary sacrifice, making tax and National Insurance savings.
