Equality Objectives 2026-2029

To support delivery of our Public Sector Equality Duty and our commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion, the Trust has identified the following objectives for the period 2026-2029. Progress against these objectives will be reviewed annually and reported through the Trust's governance framework.

Staff, Volunteers and Governors

We will:

Achieve Gender Equity in Recruitment, Progression and Leadership Representation

  • Review recruitment practices to ensure fair and inclusive processes.
  • Encourage diverse applicant pools.
  • Monitor gender representation across staffing groups and leadership positions.
  • Support career progression pathways for all staff.

Enable Equitable Career Progression Through Flexible and Inclusive Working Practices

  • Promote flexible working opportunities wherever possible.
  • Support staff with caring responsibilities.
  • Encourage flexible working arrangements at all levels, including leadership.
  • Monitor retention and progression outcomes.

Promote Respectful and Inclusive Language

  • Ensure staff understand the impact language can have on others.
  • Provide training, guidance and support.
  • Promote a culture where concerns can be raised respectfully.
  • Embed inclusive behaviour within professional standards and expectations.

Pupils

We will:

Strengthen a Culture of Belonging

  • Ensure all children and families feel known, valued and connected within their school community.
  • Identify and support pupils and families who may face barriers to engagement.
  • Promote participation, inclusion and positive relationships.

Develop Understanding and Respect for Diversity

  • Provide curriculum opportunities that promote understanding of different cultures, faiths, beliefs and perspectives.
  • Support children to become respectful, responsible citizens prepared for life in modern Britain.
  • Broaden experiences through visitors, educational visits and community engagement.

Ensure Equitable Access to Wider Opportunities

  • Monitor participation in clubs, visits, leadership opportunities and enrichment activities.
  • Identify and remove barriers affecting participation.
  • Support all pupils, particularly vulnerable groups, to access opportunities that enhance personal development.

Reduce Gaps in Attainment and Outcomes

  • Monitor attainment and progress of vulnerable groups.
  • Provide targeted support and intervention.
  • Ensure all children have access to high-quality teaching and learning opportunities.
